Two Sage Intacct Customers Shortlisted for Constellation Research SuperNova Awards
Sage Intacct has always focused on building customers for life. Part of that is providing software that helps our customers succeed and grow their business. So it’s always exciting when our customers are recognized by industry experts for their success using our software.
Constellation Research, a leading technology research and advisory firm based in Silicon Valley, recently announced the finalists for their prestigious SuperNova Awards. In their 9th year, these awards celebrate individuals, teams, and organizations who have overcome challenges by successfully applying emerging and disruptive technologies to their organizations. We are proud to announce that two Sage Intacct customers were recognized as finalists this year.
Pamela Bakker of Laird Management is a finalist in the Tech Optimization and Modernization category, which recognizes organizations and individuals that reduce technical debt to fund innovation using technologies. Meanwhile, Jeff Banaszak of Creative Dining Services was named a finalist for the Future of Work – Employee Experience category, where organizations and individuals are recognized for delivering the best employee experience that maximizes wellness and productivity with tools that support the future of work and people analytics.
Here is a closer look at the two award finalists:
Laird Management – Gaining faster financial processes and improved reporting
As Laird Management established one of the largest Burger King franchisees with 32 restaurants and branched out to a new franchisee of Anytime Fitness, a global chain with 4,000 franchised gym locations, utilizing 19 on-premise instances of QuickBooks to manage the finances of multiple entities wasn’t sustainable. Time consuming inefficiencies such as producing two basic monthly balance sheets and profit and loss reports took 10 hours, which caused Bakker and her team to dedicate time to extra, mundane tasks.
After implementing Sage Intacct, Laird Management has made a plethora of improvements to their financial processes. “Sage Intacct has helped streamline our business by allowing us to create twice as many reports in less than half the time we needed in the past – giving us better visibility and more time for analysis,” said Pamela Bakker, Controller, Laird Management. “We couldn’t easily do a year-over-year comparison with QuickBooks. Now that’s a press of the button in Sage Intacct.” In addition, work-life balance has improved with the upgrade to a modern, cloud financial platform. Bakker and her team can now dedicate more time to family and Bakker can better focus on her dual role of being Laird’s director of HR.

Creative Dining Services – Efficiency gains free staff for more value-added work
Creative Dining Services is recognized for their personalized, innovative, and high-quality approach to hospitality. Today, Creative Dining serves more than 70 client locations across 12 states. Rapid growth and invoice volume led to frequent crashes with their 10-year-old AP system. An outdated accounting process led to over 350 hours a week dedicated to extensive manual data entry at both the headquarters and the 70+ client locations. Inconsistencies in financial information and lack of visibility to pursue business objectives led to frustration among the finance personnel.
Once Creative Dining transitioned to Sage Intacct, the accounting department was able to gain $760,000 in new yearly cash flow from improved accounts receivable collections and save 350 hours a week across 70+ locations by eliminating manual data entry with automated accounting processes. Now, the Creative Dining staff at client locations can focus on front-of-house client needs and the accounting team can spend time understanding the challenges and needs of local operations, and can advise site administrators on financial performance, cost reductions, tracking data, and utilizing Sage Intacct dashboards. Sage Intacct has increased job satisfaction and even “saved the morale of our accounting department,” Jeff Banaszak, Chief Financial Officer of Creative Dining, mentions. “Rather than having 25% turnover each year, now everyone wants to stay due to the wonder of using Sage Intacct and the ideas we have for the future.”
